Things to Do

There are plenty of ways to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty that abounds in Murrysville. This scenic slice of southwestern Pennsylvania is home to 1,000 acres of parkland and scenic trails for hiking and biking. Cycle or hike through history along the nine-mile Westmoreland Heritage Trail, which meanders from Saltsburg to Delmont. Duff Park is home to a wild plant sanctuary, as well as trails winding through hills, heavily wooded terrain, and wildflowers. The Funk Bikeway, which runs along Turtle Creek, is a scenic hike and bike trail that is relatively flat for about nearly two miles before turning uphill. Other park trails range from beginner’s walks to strenuous climbs. Forbes, Skullcap, and Pasture Rose Trails each reach Round Top Road, with Pasture Rose less than a mile west of Bessie Staymates Cabin and Barn. The Valley Hiking Trail winds through the wooded areas of Murrysville Community Park, which is also home to the Rotary Miracle Sports Complex, a dog park, and a wetlands area.

Avid golfers have several pristine and scenic courses to choose from. The Murrysville Golf Club features a fun and challenging course, while the Rolling Fields Golf Club boasts 18 holes that will challenge players of all skill levels. The Meadowink Golf Course features strategically placed bunkers, water hazards, and lush fairways. 

Murrysville plays host to an array of community-sponsored events throughout the year. The summer Concert in the Park series features children's activities, food, petting zoos, bands, car shows, and educational activities. The Blessing of the Bikes is a cherished annual tradition in which a short service is conducted to pray for the area’s bikers to have a safe riding season. It is among the largest ceremonies that take place throughout the region as the motorcycle-riding season begins, regularly drawing over 1,000 bikers. Each fall, over 25,000 visitors flock to the Delmont Apple ‘n Arts Festival to browse and shop handmade items from local crafters, as well as delicious food and fresh-pressed apple cider.


Murrysville is in close proximity to several highly acclaimed colleges and universities in Pittsburgh, including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and Chatham University.
